![]() It's the last day of August and the weather lately has felt more like fall. It get me so excited to get into the woods. Tomorrow is the unofficial first day of hunting season in Kansas. Dove season begins and hunters will be hitting the fields to get their limit of doves before they head South. Youth deer season begins this weekend and runs for a week. Depending on the weather I hope to get my boys out for a sit or two. Archery deer season will begin on September 12 and run through December 31. I hope to get after a doe early in the season with my Coyote takedown recurve. I have been shooting my bow almost every evening working on improving my form and concentration as well as my draw strength. I plan to build a Swift Fox longbow for myself and hunt with it this season but I'll take one day at a time and see what time allows me. Whatever you hunt and however you choose to do it, be safe, be ethical, have fun, and good luck!
