Well there is just over a week of the Spring Turkey season remaining here in Kansas and we have yet to connect with a gobbler. We hunted pretty hard early in the season and got close but luck was not on our side. I have hopes of getting out in the closing days to see if we can still get it done. ![]() The good news is that deer season is only 4 months away! Now being a teacher most would think that I would want the summer to go as slow as possible soaking in each day of freedom and to some extent I do. I have lots of projects to work on, ball games to attend, golf lessons, etc. It is nice to have a break after a crazy spring but summer can be hectic as well. I am so excited to take my new 58" Bobcat out into the woods this fall. It turned out beautifully and is a great shooter. The riser is Bubinga, Wenge, and white phenolic and the limbs are Bocote and clear glass. I dropped the draw weight to 43# @ 28" which makes it fun to shoot and hopefully easier to hold at full draw on those cold fall mornings. These Bobcat bows are so quick and hit so hard that 43# is plenty to blow through a deer with the proper arrow and broadhead setup. I'll be shooting it every chance I get, honing my skills and preparing for the upcoming season. I'm also considering a switch to the "fixed crawl" aiming method. I'll be sure to keep you posted on how that goes. That's what makes this the perfect time to pick up a new recurve or longbow. Allowing approximately a month for me to do the work you will have your bow with plenty of time to prepare for the fall hunting season. Couple that with the Mother's / Father's Day promotion that we are currently running and it's a no brainer!
